Help create a new Hackney walking map

We’re creating a new printed and digital walking map for Hackney, London, and we need your help.

The maps will reveal quiet and interesting walking routes and illustrate how quick, easy, healthy and enjoyable it is to walk on everyday journeys. The maps will also showcase local features, histories and businesses, which people can explore on their travels.

How can you help?

  1. Check out our digital map above and follow the routes on your phone. Does it connect the places where you travel? Does it follow the most enjoyable routes?

  2. Tell us about your favourite local features, hidden gems and interesting shops, which people can uncover on foot. Email us, tag us on Twitter or Instagram (@footwayslondon) or fill out this form.

  3. If you are a local business or organisation and would like to feature on the map, or help us distribute them, get in touch.

The project is thanks to Hackney Council’s Hackney Central Impact and Ideas Fund, set up to make the area a fairer, greener and a more prosperous place.

We are working with a brilliant team of designers and illustrators to create the eye-catching printed map, which will be given out for free in January 2023. Watch this space!
