The Northbank BID

The Strand was once lined with palaces which stretched down to the river where watergates provided access. The eastern section of the Strand outside Somerset House and King’s College is being transformed into a major new public space – car-free with St Mary le Strand at the centre. The traffic has gone and the rebuild is in progress. While works continue, this historic and cultural setting is very much open.
